How Can Physio Help Me?
- Our initial physiotherapy assessment helps to identify problem areas and biomechanical imbalances in order to produce a problem list and formulate a treatment plan.
- Our physiotherapists treat a wide variety of injuries and problems using many different techniques. A range of tests can help to locate the source of the problem and implement the appropriate treatment strategy.
- In many cases identifying the causes and pre-disposing factors can help to reduce the risk of the same injury happening again. Identifying factors such as poor posture, improper techniques, muscle imbalances and poor work practice, allow interventions to be made to correct them.
- Our physiotherapists can help to get you back to work or sport quickly by providing progressive rehabilitation programmes and giving preventative advice.
- If you are having or have had surgery our physiotherapists are involved in the pre and post operative programmes to help you to return to your normal activities of daily living.
- Our physiotherapists can provide advice on exercise programmes whether this is to help you get fit, improve your general well-being or reduce your chances of getting injured in the future.
What Can I Expect?
- A comprehensive history of your problem will be taken at the first appointment, which along with an objective examination allows a treatment and exercise plan to be established.
- Initial appointments are 45-60 minutes
- Follow up appointments are 30 – 45 minutes
- It is advisable to wear appropriate clothing and footwear to help with your examination e.g. shorts and trainers if looking at a back or lower limb problem.
- Exercise is usually necessary as part of the rehabilitation process and Physio Action has full use of the sporting facilities at both Health Clubs for this purpose.
- The clinics are open from Monday to Saturday (evening & weekend appointments available). For detailed opening hours click here.
- The physiotherapists at Physio Action are recognised by all major health insurance groups including BUPA. It is advisable to check your policy prior to your initial assessment as every policy has different requirements.
- It is necessary that you provide us with a claim number before commencing treatment should you wish us to claim directly from your insurance company.
