Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
All you need to do is call us on 0113 2687 578, specify which of our clinics it is that you wish to attend, and we will book you an appointment that is convenient to you.
HOW LONG DOES AN APPOINTMENT LAST & HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We offer treatments across our 4 clinics: Harrogate, Ilkley, Leeds & Guiseley. The length of our appointments differ slightly clinic to clinic, so for full details on length of appointment and cost please call our reception on 0113 2687578.
HOW & WHEN DO I PAY?
If you are a self-funding patient, we ask that you pay at the end of each treatment session. This can be done by cash or debit/credit card.
If you have an appointment at our Ilkley clinic and want to pay by card, simply telephone us on 0113 2687578 & we can take the payment remotely.
If you receive one of our invoices for payment this can be done over the telephone too.
I HAVE PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE DO I NEED TO GET A GP REFERRAL BEFORE I COME FOR PHYSIO?
We do not insist on a GP referral prior to your appointment, however your insurance company may do. Please check the terms of your policy and if in doubt, check with your insurance provider.
If you receive one of our invoices for payment this can be done over the telephone too.
WHICH INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE YOU REGISTERED WITH?
We are registered with all of the major insurance providers and some of the smaller ones too – if in doubt, feel free to ask our receptionist by calling 0113 2687578.
WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED FROM MY MEDICAL INSURANCE COMPANY IN ORDER FOR ME TO CLAIM?
We simply need your policy number and an authorisation code that is specific to Physiotherapy provided by us. It is possible that your insurers may ask you for the full name and professional member no. of the Physiotherapist providing the treatment. If required, our reception team can provide this.
I HAVE AN EXCESS ON MY INSURANCE POLICY. HOW DOES THAT WORK?
As long as we have your policy number & authorisation code, we will send invoices for all of your treatment sessions to the insurers. Once they receive our invoice(s), they will deduct the excess amount and advise both yourself and the team here at Physio Action. We will then transfer the relevant portion of the invoice back to yourself in order for you to pay us directly.
I HAVE SEEN A CONSULTANT/ HAD A SCAN/ X-RAY. DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE RESULTS?
It is always useful for us to have as much information as is available, so that the Physio can build up a full picture of your injury or condition. Normally, your consultant would write both to us and your GP after consultation, however, if this has not been done, you can request a letter from them.
WHAT DO I WEAR FOR MY PHYSIO APPOINTMENT?
This very much depends on the nature of your injury or condition. For example, if we are treating your knee, it would be best to arrive in shorts. If you are unsure what to wear, please feel free to ask as you book in.
I AM NOT A MEMBER AT THE CLUB WHERE YOU ARE BASED. CAN I STILL COME FOR TREATMENT?
Yes, you do not need to be a member of the club, you will just be asked to sign in as a visitor when you come for treatment.
HOW DO I FIND YOU?
Yes, there is free parking at all our sites.
IS THERE DISABLED ACCESS?
Yes, there is disabled access at all our sites and lifts are available once inside the building(s).
Happy Clients
I would like to commend Charlie for the very friendly and professional way she managed the treatment I required when I damaged my Pelvis following a fall. I would never have reached my high level of recovery without the constant encouragement and support I received from her throughout our sessions. She is certainly an asset to Physio Action. Many thanks for your co-operation. Kind regards MB
I would like to sincerely thank Jaime for the kind helpful and respectful manner in which she dealt with my bladder problem and brought it to a swift and satisfactory conclusion. Kind regards MB
To the team and all concerned. My husband and I are both have been using Physio Action team at DL. What a fantastic team of people indeed: very professional, very knowledgeable and so friendly and accommodating. Two people deserve a special mention: Lauren at Reception (wonderful and helpful and very friendly lady) and Kevin - a total expert in helping both us healing various sports injuries and so knowledgeable in what exercises to do and how and when to recover from an injury asap. Thanks guys for being amazing! Will recommend Physio Action to anyone every time.
Dear Jane,
Thanks for sorting me out physio wise so I could ski. I think you are very good at your job; great communication skills, friendly, efficient and effective. Keep doing it like you do.
Best Wishes
Just to say how very grateful I am to you for your determined efforts to diagnose and get treatment for Jenni's back. She really had drawn a blank until she met you. I do hope that all your efforts will pay off and that she will be able to train and run again. With my sincere thanks.
Big Thank you to all at Physio Action for the excellent care I have had over the past 6 months. Without the comprehensive care from Gill and Kev before the Winter Olympics I would not have been able to compete. On my return I needed a significant operation followed by challenging rehabilitation that has been expertly led by Kev.
Could I pay tribute to the excellent pelvic floor physio session I have just had with Jaime Sawiuk at the Physio Action clinic. She was absolutely superb - I have a fairly complicated history and she was very knowledgeable and thorough while being gentle and compassionate - a true professional. Thank you.
